Cruises are officially coming back to Tampa Bay.
Royal Caribbean and Port Tampa Bay will celebrate a big milestone next Saturday. For the first time since the CDC enacted the No Sail Order on March 14, 2020, a passenger ship will sail out of Port Tampa Bay.
Royal Caribbean International’s Serenade of the Seas will depart for the Bahamas from Tampa on October 16.
The return of cruises can be a great economic booster for the Tampa Bay area. According to Port Tampa Bay, a 3,000 passenger cruise ship can generate $334,000 in “passenger and crew onshore spending per call.” With Sparkman Wharf, Ybor City, and Downtown Tampa being just miles away from the port, travelers will be able to get the ultimate Tampa experience.
