First $5 Million ‘Gold Rush Limited’ Winner Sold In Spring Hill
A Hernando County woman struck gold with a Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket.
Valerie Homer-Faggart, 68, of Spring Hill, was the first to win the $5 million top prize from the new “Gold Rush Limited” scratch-off game. She bought her ticket from A to Z Discount Beverage, located at 4060 Deltona Blvd. in Spring Hill.
Valerie chose to take her prize as a lump-sum payment of $3,960,000. She claimed her winnings at the Florida Lottery Tampa District Office. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The “Gold Rush Limited” is a $20 scratch-off game. There were 32 $5 million prizes (31 remaining) and 100 $1 million prizes (99 remaining). In all, there are prizes ranging from $20 to $5 million. The game was launched on September 20, 2021.
