With holidays coming up quickly, Amazon will boost their workforce for the season. Florida will see an additional 10,500 added to their workforce.
Amazon had already begun adding full- and part-time jobs in September. The 10,500 additional seasonal jobs are in addition these jobs, which is to help ensure the seasonal increase in business will be covered.
Alicia Boler Davis, Senior Vice President, Global Customer Fulfillment said in a statement:
“We are proud to be offering a huge range of full-time, part-time, and now seasonal jobs with great pay and benefits. Our seasonal hiring helps us deliver on our promises to customers while also providing flexibility to our full-time employees during busy periods.” Davis continued, “Joining Amazon in one of our seasonal roles offers high-paying, part-time work or a path to a full-time position, with benefits like our Career Choice program to help people advance their education and careers within Amazon or beyond.”
Amazon says that they value their seasonal employees, and that many return each holiday, or transition to full-time roles. The seasonal jobs begin at $18 per hour, have sign-on bonuses up to $3,000 and can include up to $3 per hour more, based on shifts and locations.
