A Florida man is in custody after he tried to rob a Waffle House while high on drugs and alcohol, according to Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Police say they received a call on Monday from a Waffle House employee about a man who had attempted to rob the restaurant. Apparently, 28-year-old Eward Wiliam Rodriguez had come into the restaurant shouting “get on the ground, ya’ll are getting robbed!”
Witnesses say Rodriguez was waving around his hands gestured as finger guns and said he was high on drugs and alcohol. Rodriguez then left the restaurant after grabbing a bunch of napkins.
Eventually, deputies from Madison County found Rodriguez at his home. They say he confessed to the robbery.
He now faces unarmed robbery and assault charges.
