UB40 vocalist and founding member Astro (born Terence Wilson) has died following a short illness. He was 64.

The vocalist's death was confirmed via UB40's Twitter who wrote, "We have heard tonight, the sad news that ex-member of UB40, Terence Wilson, better known as Astro, has passed away after a short illness. Our sincere condolences to his family."

This is the second death to hit UB40 this year. In August, saxophonist and founding member Brian Travers died at the age of 62 from complications due to cancer.

UB4o is best known for their string of top-ten hits in the late '80s and early '90s which included "Here I Am (Come And Take Me)," "The Way You Do The Things You Do," "Can't Help Falling In Love" and "Red Red Wine." The latter two songs both topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1993 and 1988, respectively.
