LAS VEGAS, NV – JULY 06: A bud on a growing marijuana plant is shown at Essence Vegas’ 54,000-square-foot marijuana cultivation facility on July 6, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. On July 1, Nevada joined seven other states allowing recreational marijuana use and became the first of four states that voted to legalize recreational sales in November’s election to allow dispensaries to sell cannabis for recreational use to anyone over 21. Since July 1, sales of cannabis products in the state have generated more than USD 1 million in tax revenue. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says 21-year-old Eric Cleon Williams and three others were involved in a crash after fleeing a traffic stop near Haines Road and 54th Avenue North in St. Pete. After deputies smelled the scent of marijuana coming from their vehicle, they searched the car. Apparently police found 36 pounds of marijuana inside two suitcases.
They were all taken to Pinellas County Jail. Reports say Williams was later arrested for contraband, when police found a gram of marijuana on him inside the facility.
