Actually you can’t buy front row seats to ANY Billy Joel concert for that matter. Why? It’s because Billy’s a pretty awesome dude.

Actually you can't buy front row seats to ANY Billy Joel concert for that matter. Why? It's because Billy's a pretty awesome dude.

You've no doubt seen it happen at Tampa concerts at the amphitheatre or Amalie Arena. Already expensive front row seats are jacked up by ticket scalpers on third party websites. Sometimes you have to pay double or even triple the face value if you want that up close view. It's not just you. It bugs Billy Joel too.

In an interview with People magazine last year, Billy's daughter revealed that he refuses to let seats in the first row be sold... at all! But those seats won't go unfilled. Billy sends his crew up to those awful nosebleed seats and brings REAL fans down to fill the front row in. Alexa Ray Joel says her dad got tired of seeing "bored rich people staring up at him."
