Thinking about heading to the Gasparilla festivities Saturday in Tampa? Those sexy pirate outfits we often see may be replaced with ski jackets. Channel 8 says this year’s Gasparilla Day Parade could be the coldest one in a decade.

We won’t get out of the 40s. Usually daytime temperatures at least get into the 60s. To make matters worse, it looks like the winds are going to whip up enough to use those two words we normally don’t hear in Florida: “wind chill.” The wind chill will make the feels like temperature close to the lower 40s… during the WARMEST part of the day.  Some are saying on the Tampa reddit that Gasparilla should be moved to February. What do you think? Tweet your thoughts on that to @GenoRadio and we’ll include them below.

Those planning to celebrate on the water are getting warned too. Those high winds could gust up to 30MPH. That’s going to make navigating Tampa Bay waters pretty dangerous for less experienced boaters on smaller vessels. Definitely check ahead too to see which boat ramps will even be open to the public.
