Small Craft Advisory: Officials Warn Against Boating During Gasparilla

Aaargh, the high seas are roaring.

The Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla announced on Friday that they will be rerouting their course during Gasparilla, and small boaters are advised to not follow route.

The Krewe says the Jose Gasparilla ship will start their course from Port Tampa Bay at noon. Then they will sail through the Ybor Channel, around Harbour Island and into the Seddon Channel where the pirates will demand the key to the city from Mayor Jane Castor at the Tampa Convention Center. They are expected to arrive at 1 pm, according to WTSP.

Not only will the route change for the pirates, but small boat owners are being warned to not trail behind the ship, due a small craft advisory that will be in effect until 7 pm on Saturday.
