Owner: Two Dogs Are Recovering After Being Shot Outside Pasco County Home
The owner of the two dogs that were shot outside a Pasco County home says they are now recovering.
Ring video captured a man shooting two dogs from a white Toyota Tundra outside a home in Holiday on Tuesday. The two dogs, Lucy and Ellie, were then rushed to the vet. However, now they are back with their owner Linda Penn.
Police later identified the shooter as 56-year-old Darren Salinger.
Linda says Ellie was shot through her jaw. Apparently, one of her teeth was the only thing stopping the bullet from traveling into her brain.
As for Salinger, he was arrested and charged with animal cruelty and discharging a firearm from his vehicle. He was later released on a $15,000 bond.
Salinger told Channel 8 he shot the dogs because they attacked his own. However, Linda says her dogs never show any signs of aggression.
Hopefully the dogs go through a speedy recovery.
