Movies Being Made In Pinellas County Bringing Out Stars

Move movies are being produced in Pinellas County. Now, more familiar names are beginning to be cast in starring roles.

Currently being made in Dunedin, "R.A.D.A.R.: Adventures of the Bionic Dog" features actor Dean Cain. Cain is best known for his lead role in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." Also in this cast is Tampa's own Paul Wilson.

Other movies that have been in production around Pinellas County include several being produced by David Yates. Yates was previously the Clearwater Marine Aquarium CEO, and helped create the 'Dolphin Tale' movies. He has been bringing more movie production into the area.

The Yates' produced "The Plus One" stars Cedric the Entertainer and Ashanti. Filming recently wrapped up on this romantic comedy. Two sites used in the movie are the Sandpearl Resort and the Hyatt Regency Clearwater
Beach Resort.
David Yates is also producing a movie titled "Pet Detective" which is filming around the Tampa Bay area. The star of this movie is Sean Astin. The actor's previous roles are well known. He played Rudy, starred in "The Goonies" and "Stranger Things," and was one of the hobbits in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. He also tried to rob Sheldon and Amy out of a Nobel on "The Big Bang Theory." You can still find out about a chance to appear in the film which is casting locals here.

Keep an eye out-you never know when someone famous just might be making a movie in the Tampa area. Others who've made movies here include Henry Winkler (Directed "Cop and a Half"), John Travolta (Starred in "The Punisher"), and, of course, Johnny Depp (Starred in "Edward Scissorhands").
