Video: Florida Woman Has Large Rattlesnake Removed From Front Door
A natural but unwelcome guest appeared on a Florida woman’s doorstep. Authorities came in to remove the large rattlesnake.
Animal control officers needed to be called to a Stuart resident’s home. A neighbor contacted the resident to warn her not to open her front door. A roughly six-foot-long rattlesnake was enjoying being on her doormat.
Martin County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control came out, and it took two officers to corral the large snake. The homeowner told TV station WPBF that the snake did not go happily.
This appeared to be an eastern diamondback rattlesnake. According to National Geographic, though some can get close to 8-feet-long, this snake was slightly larger than average. They are venomous, though usually avoid humans. If you encounter a rattlesnake, do not try to catch or harass it. They can accurately strike within 1/3 of their body length.
