You Might Hear a Loud Boom in the Tampa Area After Midnight Tonight
Don’t be alarmed. There’s nothing to worry about. Most will probably be sound asleep when they could be awoken by a loud boom tonight. You’re more likely to hear it the closer you live to the coast.
The U.S. Coast Guard tweeted a short time ago that Crew 3 astronauts are going to splashdown somewhere off the coast near us at about 12:43am. It could create a sonic boom according to Fox 13’s Paul Dellegato. The astronauts are coming home after spending six months aboard the Space Station.
If you want to stay up and watch it happen live, come back here at midnight. Or look to the sky to your west, you might see it! I also read that Panama City Beach is a backup plan. Keep an eye on that live video above from NASA for updates.
