A Florida Man tried to elude Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies by swimming in the Intracoastal Waterway.

The Florida Man in this tale, Matthew DiPaolo of Port Charlotte, tried to steal the boat that was docked in  Englewood. Before the deputies arrived, a witness saw DiPaolo jump from the stolen boat and start swimming in the Intracoastal Waterway.

The chase was on. These deputies would not let DiPaolo escape them. They called in their K-9 and aviation units. The sheriff’s helicopter captured all the footage on its infrared camera. DiPaolo tried swimming underwater to hide from the deputies. Sorry, that didn’t work. Check out the footage:

DiPaolo was captured and charged with attempted grand theft of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest with violence.
