Clearwater Driver Caught Doing 100 In 30 MPH Zone
Driving in Clearwater during a busy holiday weekend can be difficult enough. This could have made things face worse.
A driver was arrested by Clearwater police for driving 100 mph in a 30 mph zone, right along Clearwater Beach. It happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning. The area was still crowded, being the Memorial Day weekend.

The 18-year-old crashed the car several times during the incident. Breath samples showed his blood alcohol level was .13 and .133, well over the legal limit of .08. Alcohol was found, along with THC wax inside the vehicle.
There was also a passenger inside the vehicle who was also arrested. This happened after the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and Clearwater Police Department warned people to be safe and not drink and drive.
