We love it when Hollywood brings a little piece of itself to the Tampa Bay area. We've got talented folks in the film world that live right here, so when a Hollywood production comes to town, that can be mutually beneficial.

In fact, our Fester from the MJ Morning Show was in The Punisher when it was filmed here in the bay area.

And remember the movie The Infiltrator, starring Bryan Cranston? The director of that film, Brad Furman, brought the production of a portion of the movie to Tampa. Well, that could be happening again, as Amazon studios has optioned the film, The Betrayal.

The books, The Infiltrator and The Betrayal, were written by bestselling author, Robert Mazur. The Betrayal is based on one of Mazur's true life stories he experienced as a DEA agent. It's about money laundering, banking corruption, Colombian drug cartel kingpins, and it also tells the story of Mazur almost being murdered because of a corrupt co-worker who revealed his true identity to the drug lords.

If you are a big fan of Mazur and his writing, you can see him at Tampa Theatre on August 27th. It's also in conjunction with Oxford Exchange. I've hosted some of these types of events before, and they are always so much fun. Former news anchor John Wilson will be moderating this one. It's at 2:00pm on Saturday.

Here's a crazy part. Due to security reasons, Robert Mazur has never appeared in public at these types of events. This will likely be your only chance to see him. Mazur has lived an exceptional life. But he was constantly in danger. Cartel leaders put out hits on him, offering half a million dollars for his head. Wow! What a crazy, danger-filled life!

Had my first chance to watch a Rays game from one of those outfield group seating sections on the field.  Didn't catch any foul balls but got these shots!

Wasn't mine but I wish it was. Cracker Jacks milkshake... fail though, they didn't order it with alcohol.
