Sheriff Chad Chronister Tells MJ Some Of The Shocking Details Discovered During The Hillsborough County Prostitution Bust
We received a call from Sheriff Chad Chronister Friday morning. He was calling to share details about a four-month Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department operation.
Undercover detectives arrested 176 men who communicated with law enforcement (unbeknownst to the men) in an attempt to buy sex and/or solicit minors.
Some of the details were outrageous, including the fact that one of those arrested was a guy who had been on his honeymoon when he’d attempted to purchase sex.
These operations are so important because they identify people who are the “demand” part of the equation in sex trafficking. Sex trafficking is more prevalent here around our state and in our Tampa Bay area than many people may realize. It’s a horrific thing for the victims being trafficked. Often times, the criminals who are trafficking young girls get trap the girls by getting them addicted to dangerous drugs.
