Missed your chance to see Rod Stewart in Tampa at Amalie Arena Saturday night? Apparently he had such a good time, he's coming back. But this show will be very different.
Rod's playing a much more intimate venue - the new concert venue at the Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa! Shows at the Event Center only seat about 1500 so this will be one tough ticket to get for sure. The show happens Thursday, February 23, 2023. Presales begin tomorrow and the general public on sale happens Friday (September 9) at 10am. Tickets start at $275.
Check out these great front row shots our photographer Lisa Claire snapped at the show Saturday night!
For over five decades, Rod Stewart has entertained the masses and continues to be a top concert draw.
From his work with The Jeff Beck Group and Faces to his solo career, he remains one of music’s enduring voices. The fact that he’s continued to have one of the best heads of hair in the business doesn’t hurt either. (He does wear it well.)
In honor of his birthday today (January 10), enjoy the gallery below of classic images of Stewart through the years.

Rod Stewart & Cheap Trick Tour 2022 Setlist
After a long wait, Tampa will finally get to see Rod Stewart with Cheap Trick at Amalie Arena September 3. The show was supposed to happen back in August of 2020, but the concert was postponed when COVID-19 infections took off around the country. The show was moved to August 2021. Well that didn't happen either. So here we are two years later. You might be surprised to find out that there are still quite a few tickets left... and honestly, they're not that expensive! If you don't mind sitting up on the 300 level at the back of Amalie Arena, tickets start at around $30 before you add in those fees we all love. For concerts in 2022, that's not a bad price.
Will the list of songs Rod performs get you to bust out the credit card? Take a look at the set list of songs Rod's been doing on this tour so far. Usually the order doesn't change with tours like this because everything is set to video screens and light shows. So we're pretty sure this will be the list of Rod's classics he'll perform in order.
Addicted To Love
Interesting choice to kick off the show with a cover song! But this Robert Palmer jam will bring big energy from the very first drumbeat. This is one of my all-time favorite '80s songs. The music video was always on MTV. This won't be the only cover song Rod does... you'll see what I mean as the night progresses.
You Wear It Well
Taking it back to the summer of 1972 for this one from "Never A Dull Moment." It hit #13 on the Billboard chart shortly after "Maggie May."
Ooh La La
This one was rare in that Ronnie Wood did the lead vocals on this Faces classic from 1973.
Some Guys Have All The Luck
Says the guy who was 45 when he was with 21 year old Rachel Hunter.
Having A Party
Remember this one from the '90s? The Sam Cooke cover was done by Luther Vandross, the Pointer Sisters and even Bruce Springsteen.
It Takes Two
Another cover - this one of Marvin Gaye's 1965 hit.
Forever Young
A song Rod wrote for his children when he realized he had been spending too much time touring. He would begin taking his family on the road with him.
The First Cut Is The Deepest
Many don't realize this one's a cover too. It's associated so often with Rod's cover, but this was a Cat Stevens song.
Have You Ever Seen the Rain?
Yep! Another cover. Kind of crazy when you think about all the hits Rod has had over the years! This Creedence Clearwater Revival 1971 hit about how it'll rain a sunny day kind of fits Florida summer weather.
Maggie May
Thought this would be the show closer? Me too! This one came in at #130 on Rolling Stone's Greatest Songs of All Time list.
I'd Rather Go Blind
Stop me if you've heard this one. A cover... this time of an Etta James classic.
Young Turks
Rod's adventure into the new wave sound that was popular in the early 80s. It's one of those rare songs where you never hear the title in the lyrics. Instead you hear "Young hearts." Turk was slang for rebellious youth back in the early 1900s. The video on MTV had breakdancing!
Do Ya Think I'm Sexy
Another one of Rod's signature hits from 1978's "Blondes Have More Fun."
Rhythm of My Heart
This is another one that until today I never knew was a cover. The song was already 5 years old by the time Rod had a hit with it in 1991.
Call Me
Listen, if you don't want to hear covers, this tour set list might not be for you. But I can't wait to hear this one of Blondie.
The Killing of Georgie
This one will be the first song of an acoustic set. Rod has said over the years this song is based on real events of a friend of the band, but some parts of the story were changed for the song.
People Get Ready
Rod's famous version of the Impressions classic.
Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)
This one had the longest stay at #1 on the charts than any of Rod's songs.
You're in My Heart
Another 70s gem, this one from Rod's album "Foot Loose & Fancy Free." Rod even works in a shout out to his favorite soccer teams.
Have I Told You Lately
Rod had a big hit with this Van Morrison cover during the MTV Unplugged era.
Hot Stuff
Rod's going to get you dancing as the show starts to wrap up with this Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party favorite by Donna Summer.
Hot Legs
After so many covers on this setlist, this Rod Stewart classic has had many covers itself. Tina Turner, Tom Jones and even Bon Jovi have covered it.
Stay With Me
Rod ends the night the Faces 1971 classic. This one's been covered by a bunch of unlikely acts too from Mary J. Blige to Def Leppard.
CHEAP TRICK: Stop This Game
Cheap Trick starts the night in the early 80s.
In The Street
Originally a hit for Big Star in 1972. You might best remember this one as the theme for "That 70s Show."
Dream Police
Big Brother is watching! This song was about Google before Google was even a thing.
Ain't That A Shame
A Fats Domino cover!
Light Up the Fire
Some new music from the band.
Heaven Tonight
The title track from the band's third album.
Downed
From the 1977 album "In Color."
I Know What I Want
Another great track from Dream Police.
The Flame
The first big hit during the group's resurgence in 1987. It was the band's first #1 hit.
I Want You To Want Me
Still probably the most requested Cheap Trick hit on Q105 all these years later.
Surrender
The band's first hit in 1978 from "Heaven Tonight."
Goodnight
Appropriate song to end the set with right?
