The Tampa Bay Lightning, winner of three Stanley Cups, are about to start the 2022-2023 season. This marks 30 years of Lightning hockey for the Tampa Bay area. The party is planned and coming soon.

On Saturday, October 1, 2022, the celebrations begin at Amalie Arena. Free admission is available, but tickets must be claimed through Ticketmaster. Here’s what’s going on on day 1.

Interviews with Tampa Bay Lightning General Manager Julien Brisebois and Lightning Head Coach Jon Cooper. Current players, along with Lightning alumni such as Dave Andreychuk, Brian Bradley, Ryan Malone, Paul Ysebaert, Jassen Cullimore and Mathieu Garon. There will be game shows that feature Lightning alumni and current players.

The day’s events will finish off with a concert from Smash Mouth. (“All-Star”, “Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby”, “Walkin’ on the Sun” and “I’m A Believer”)

The event begins at 4 p.m. for the general public. STMs, suite holders and partners can enter at 3 p.m. for exclusive autograph opportunities.

Then, on Sunday, October 2, 2022, the celebration continues as the Tampa Bay Lightning have an open practice at Amalie Arena. Gates open at 10 a.m. and practice begins at 10:30 a.m. Free tickets can be claimed from Ticketmaster.

All weekend, fans can check out photo booths, kids zones and games. You can also by hockey gear from Tampa Bay Community Hockey.
