Pinellas County Sheriff Releases Video Of Stolen Maserati

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gaultieri spoke to media about a late night incident involving a stolen Maserati. A sheriff department helicopter followed the action.

During his presentation to media, Sheriff Gaultieri released the video. The helicopter was in the area for an unrelated call. It spotted three individuals walking on 62nd Avenue North in <a href=”/tag/st-petersburg”>St. Petersburg</a>. In the video, you can see one of the three walk up to a car, a Maserati, and open the driver’s side door.

The video continues, showing the other two enter the vehicle, which then exits the parking area. Being watched by helicopter the entire time, ground units were called in to intercept the car, which was traveling with no lights on. When two law enforcement vehicles approached the stolen car, it took off. Law enforcement was called off the chase, but the car sped up to over 100 miles per hour.

The driver lost control of the car and it swerved off the road, went airborne and landed in a parking lot. You can see it in the video below.



Tampa Theatre 2022 Halloween Movie Series

Tampa Theatre is raising their Halloween movie game in October. They’ll be showing some spooky films and other presentations in one of the most haunted locations.

The series begins October 14 and continues through Halloween. Classic Halloween films and live (or undead) events will fill the haunted theater each night.

Here is the eerie schedule for “A Nightmare on Franklin Street.”

  • Friday, Oct. 14 - Hocus Pocus (1993) - 7:30 p.m.

    If you’re unfamiliar with this relatively new classic, it’s about a teen battling with three witches who return after being executed in the 17th century. Bette Midler stars along with Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

  • Friday, Oct. 14 - Suspiria (1977) - 10:30 p.m.

    For the fan of the horror genre, this 1977 classic is a special film. The original movie was produced with vibrant colors that seemingly leap off the screen. This 4K restoration gives the most amazingly clean image that will show off details you may never have noticed before.

  • Saturday, Oct. 15 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) - 7:30 p.m. and 11:55 p.m.

    If you’ve seen ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ before, there’s nothing you don’t already know. If you haven’t, there’s nothing we can tell you that will truly describe this unique theatrical experience. ‘Rocky Horror’ features the musical skills of Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Meat Loaf, Barry Bostwick and the rest of the aliens. There will be a live cast along with the film. Guests can bring their own props (leave the hot dogs, rice and water guns at home.. the Tampa Theatre doesn’t need to clean that up.)

  • Sunday, October 16 - Friday the 13th (1980) - 2:00 p.m.

  • Sunday, October 16 - Psycho (1960) - 5:30 p.m.

    It’s Alfred Hitchcock’s unique masterpiece. We’re not going to give anything away. Follow the film closely because it’s a piece of movie history. Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh starred in the movie. This is the first of two movies on “Scream Queen Night”

  • Sunday, October 16 - X (2022) - 8:30 p.m.

    Well, the title is short. “X”. More importantly, ‘X’ features Tampa native Brittany Snow. This is the second of two movies on “Scream Queen Night”.

    The trailer will show that it is not family friendly, nor is it safe for work.

  • Monday, October 17 - The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) - 2:00 p.m.

    Jack Black and Cate Blanchett star in this fantasy film about a magical clock.

  • Monday, October 17 - The Shining (1980) - 7:30 p.m.

    The word ‘masterpiece’ may be overused, but for Stanley Kubrick, it’s a perfect descrption. “The Shining” is a classic, and certain scenes can not be forgotten.

  • Tuesday, October 18 - Grand Hampton Season Premiere (2022) - 7:30 p.m.,

    It’s the premiere of season 3. “Grand Hampton” began as a local project during the pandemic. The YouTube series picked up a following, and the Tampa Theatre will debut the latest episode. Click here to find the series on YouTube.

  • Wednesday, October 19 - Theatre of Blood (1973) - 7:00 p.m.

    Would it be enough to just hear Vincent Price? You’ll have to see this one. It’s among Price’s finest performances.

  • Thursday, October 20 - Pet Sematary (1989) - 7:30 p.m.

    It worked with pets, so why stop there? (Wait… it didn’t really work so well on pets, did it?). Yes, it’s Stephen King’s masterpiece. Well, one of them…

  • Friday, October 21 - Josh Gates Live - 8:00 p.m.

    Star of Discovery Channel’s “Expedition Unknown” and Syfy’s “Destination Truth”, Josh Gates brings what Tampa Theatre calles “An Evening of Ghosts, Monsters, and Tales of Adventure LIVE.’

    Sadly, at this point the show is sold out.

  • Saturday, October 22 - SpiritsFest 2022: “Opening Night” - 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

    A themed fundraiser for Tampa Theatre… it’s a live murder mystery. Click here to learn more about the event. It definitely sounds as though it’s worth the money, but it’s not inexpensive.

  • Sunday, October 23 - PHANTASMAGORIA XIII – “Poe, Through The Tales Darkly”- 2:00 p.m.

    A live theatrical horror troupe presents tales from Edgar Allan Poe. Their storytelling isn’t told just through a reading, but through dance, puppetry, projections, music and more.

  • Monday, October 24 - Dead & Buried (1981) - 7:30 p.m.

    This doesn’t give too much away… the dead don’t stay buried. There are plenty of familiar faces in the film such as Melody Anderson (Flash), Jack Albertson (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Barry Corbin (WarGames, Anger Management).

  • Tuesday, October 25 - The Beast Comes at Midnight (2022) - 7:00 p.m.

    Eric Roberts stars in this horror film directed by Florida-born Christopher Jackson. It’s also co-written by Tampa’s own Michael McKeever and filmed around the Tampa Bay area.

  • Wednesday, October 26 - An Evening with The Ghost Brothers - 7:00 p.m.

    A live presentation from TV’s “The Ghost Brothers” who had previously visited the Tampa Theatre to learn about its ghost residents. There will also be a screening of their show from Discovery+, “Ghost Brothers: Lights Out.”

  • Thursday, October 27 - Campfire Stories - 7:00 p.m.

    Live on stage… enjoy the tales traditionally told around the fire. In this case, under the theater’s starlit ceiling.

  • Friday, October 28 - The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927) - 7:00 p.m.

    A woman with a room for rent believes her resident may be murdering women in London. Another Alfred Hitchcock thriller. Tampa Theatre’s Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ will accompany the film.

  • Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 - Late Night, Lights Off Paranormal Investigation - 9:15 p.m.

    Two nights in which you can learn about who is still haunting Tampa Theatre. It’s a three-hour tour around the whole historic building.

    Professional paranormal researchers lead the study into the theater’s spirit residents.

  • Saturday, October 29 - The Haunted Mansion (2003) - 11:00 a.m.

    Eddie Murphy brings this Disney ride to the big screen. Murphy plays a realtor who thinks he may have a big deal on his hands.

  • Saturday, October 29 - Ghostbusters (1984) - 2:30 p.m.

    Someone has been calling them. They know how to catch and contain ghosts. Now we know what to say when someone asks if you’re a god. The classic starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, the great Harold Ramis, Ernie Ford, Sigourney Weaver and, of course, Slimer. Sprinkle in Rick Moranis, Annie Potts, William Atherton… Larry King and Debbie Gibson?

  • Saturday, October 29 - The Frighteners (1996) - 6:00 p.m.

    Michael J. Fox stars in the story of a man who loses his wife in car accident. He learns he can now talk to the dead. Now, he must protect the world from a demon.

  • Sunday, October 30 - El Libro de la Vida (2014) - 2:00 p.m.

    An animated adventure in which a young man must face his fears. Spanish with English subtitles

  • Sunday, October 30 - La casa del fin de los tiempos (2013) - 5:00 p.m.

    An elderly woman returns to her home after thirty years and relives terrifying experiences. Spanish with English subtitles.

  • Sunday, October 30 - REC (2007) - 8:00 p.m.

    Go with a reporter and her cameraman into a terrifying apartment building. Filmed in Spanish with English subtitles.

  • Monday, October 31 - Halloween (1978) - 7:30 p.m.

    The start of the Michael Myers story. The mask was a cheap ‘Captain Kirk’ mask that was altered for the film. The rest was simple.
