This Dracula-themed wine bar in Downtown St. Petersburg is keeping the spooky spirit alive year-round. Dracula's Legacy is a family-owned bar that brings awareness to Romanian history while still playing with the Hollywood idea of Dracula. Many know and believe the Hollywood stories of Dracula. But the owner of Dracula's Legacy, Robert Neamtu, tells The Crows Nest a little bit of the true history behind the old folk tale. He explained that the adaption of Dracula came from stories of Vlad the Impaler, the official ruler of Walachia, which is now part of modern Romania.

They embrace Romanian culture by offering traditional Romanian wines. This could be the only place in Florida where you can find them. The bar incorporates themed wines such as vampire Pinot Noir, bloody cabernet and Dracula sparkling wine.

A certain type of wine can only be found in Dracula's Legacy. A Romanian wine from the Feteasca Negara grape –– a dark-skinned grape variety native to the Republic of Moldova and Romania. This white wine is rich with fruity aromas like peaches and apples. Dracula's Legacy also offers beer, ciders, teas, coffee, and even delicious charcuterie & cheese boards and fondue cheese. There's something there for everyone.

After reopening from the pandemic, the owners tried to think of a way to reconnect with their customers. That's when they created their VIP program. Customers can pay a one-time fee of $100 and get a customized Dracula’s Legacy wine glass with a nickname engraved that is on display on their hanging wine rack for life, which is now two racks full. Your specialty wine glass will be there waiting for you whenever the thirst for non-blood beverage begins. They also offer 10% discount to students since it's within walking distance to USFSP.

Dracula's Legacy is one of the top spots to spend your Halloween weekend. They have a costume contest lasting all weekend from October 29-31. Head to their Facebook page for more information. You can find this bar staying spooky year-round at 111 2nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg.
