Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Biggest Fan, Big Nasty, Eyes Retirement
Big Nasty watches Buccaneers warmups before play against the Green Bay Packers at Raymond James Stadium on September 28, 2008 in Tampa.
This NFL season, Keith Kunzig is reveling in being “Big Nasty.”
Our friends at ABC Action News caught up with him and he said this season, he’s riding to games in style in a Mercedes limousine van.
Big Nasty has been along for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wild ride for decades. He’s watched them win two Super Bowls, and he’s endured through the losing seasons, as well.
He’s so special to football lore and history that his fandom earned him a spot in the fan’s wing at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
He said, “Still can’t believe that knock on the door. I’ll never forget that as long as I live.”
Not only has Big Nasty cheered on the team, but he’s done plenty of philanthropic work in character, too.
Though this appears to be his last season as “Big Nasty,” Kunzig still plans to root on his team.
“Big Nasty will be going to the games until the day he dies,” Kunzig said. “The only difference is, I’ll be having a cold one. Flip flops and a visor. No makeup, though.”

Derek Jeter Honored At Rays-Yankees Series In The Bronx
Last year Derek Jeter was officially inducted into the Baseball Hal of Fame.
On Friday night, as the Yankees hosted the Rays, Jeter was honored by the team he played for during his entire career.
During his speech to the crowd at Friday’s game, Jeter said, “I know you guys haven’t seen a lot of me over the last few years, for various reasons. But I really, truly do look forward to hopefully seeing a lot more of you here in the near future.”
But after his speech, Jeter told reporters (he) “wouldn’t read too much into it,” regarding his comments.
Here are some lovely pictures from their special night.
