It’s an incredible achievement in this era where so many players jump from team to team. Tampa Bay Lightning players cleared the bench last night to congratulate Steven Stamkos on his 1,000th point as a member of the Bolts. No other player has ever done it.

It was a goal by Nick Paul, but the assist went to Stamkos – which got him to the 1,000 point mark. Initially, Philadelphia Flyers in attendance booed the Lightning players’ leaving the bench. But that was because they really didn’t know the significance of the moment. Later those boos turned to cheers and a few standing ovations.

Up next, Stammer is getting close to the 500 goal mark. He’s also on a 9 game points streak. We’ll be kicking off The Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party with MC Hammer in his honor this week! It’s Stammer Time!
