Following an incident with the Tampa Chief of Police, Mayor Jane Castor has received the resignation of Chief Mary O’Connor.

Tampa PD Chief Mary O’Connor had been caught on a golf cart without a registration on a Pinellas County road. She used the opportunity to tell the deputy who she was, and that she’d hoped he’d just let her go.

When the bodycam video surfaced, Chief O’Connor was placed on administrative leave. Monday morning, the announcement came down that Tampa Mayor Jane Castor had asked for and received O’Connor’s resignation.

Here’s the bodycam video of the recent incident.
