There’s a new ride opening soon at Walt Disney World‘s Magic Kingdom. ‘TRON Lightcycle‘ the first new big ride to open at the park since 2014.
There haven’t been many additions to Magic Kingdom of the past few years. ‘TRON Lightcycle‘ has been the biggest addition to the park since Disney opened the ‘Seven Dwarfs Mine Train’ in May of 2014.
‘TRON Lightcycle‘ is set to open to the public on April 4, 2023. This isn’t the first version of ‘TRON Lightcycle‘ Disney has built. The first was in Shanghai Disneyland. Now the ride has been brought close to home for many fans of rides and of the movie franchise.

Here, the ride is under construction in July, 2021. The ride was expected to arrive sooner, but the pandemic caused delays.

The ride gives the feel of being on one of the light cycles from the movie. The launch coaster shoots you outside reaching speeds near 60 mph before heading back inside.

ABC’s Good Morning America had some of the first to get to preview the ride. You can watch it below without giving too much away.
You can also watch a video of the full ride from the Shanghai Disneyland location.
‘Tron Lightcycle‘ joins other recent additions to Walt Disney World Resort such as:
