Well this is a creative way to slow speeders in Pasco down. New Port Richey Police officers can't be everywhere at once. Or can they? Meet the newest member on the force, Sergeant Speed. The department is saving some money on salary and benefits on this hire. Good luck trying to talk him out of a ticket.

Today is the start of a traffic enforcement initiative by the New Port Richey Police Department! Our community spoke, and we listened – traffic concerns are one of the most received feedback from our citizens. Not only are we purchasing speed trailers, but we are also approaching enforcement with a proven method to reduce speeding violations… We want to introduce Sergeant Speed to our community! He will be instrumental in our traffic enforcement efforts by being placed in a marked vehicle in strategic locations. Feel free to wave as you pass (at the appropriate speed).
