A New Pub Sub Option, But You Have To Ask For It
Pub Subs don’t change much. But that’s a good thing. My newest addiction is the Nashville Hot Chicken Pub Sub. If you try one, ask them not to mash the chicken up. I like it in the big chunks. Seems like there’s more flavor that way.
But that’s not what’s new at Publix. Channel 8 ran a story tonight about a new bread you can use for your sandwich. But you won’t see it on the menu. You have to ask for it. It’s calle Tutto Pugliese. It’s definitely got an Italian inspiration, according to the report. Bakers have been in training for months to make this and it’s available in stores now. Just preparing the dough takes hours and it has to chill overnight. They’re trying some variation with different cheeses so keep an eye out for those.
You’ll see it in paper bags, but they’ll make a sub with it if you ask them. It’s described as having a creamy nutty flavor. If you try it, let me know what you think. Tag @GenoAteTampa. [Source: Channel 8]
