What Was Fishing Tampa Bay in the 60’s Like?
I grew up fishing in Tampa as a child and have made many memories fishing with my dad. These days fishing in Tampa Bay can be kind of stressful due to the heavy amount of boating and fishing traffic. My dad would always tell me stories about how easy and fun fishing was back in the day when he was a kid living in West Tampa. He told me that him and his brothers would walk up and down the beach and easily catch gigantic Snook with spear. These days catching Snook is one of the hardest fish to catch in the Bay so that goes to show you how different it was back in the 50’s and 60’s here in Tampa.
