Some new names are popping up on the annual names.org list of popular baby names in Florida for 2023. The biggest jump is for the name Mateo. It ranked #22 in 2021 but it up to #8 this year. But Florida’s most popular baby boy name remains unchanged.

The list is calculated using data from the Social Security Administration from card applications. The rest of the names in the Top 10 for 2023 for baby boys include Ethan, James, Dylan, Elijah, Oliver and Benjamin. What about girl names?
In Florida, Olivia holds the top spot for baby girl names in 2023 with Emma and Isabellas at #2 and #3 respectively. The names Mia and Ava are seeing declining popularity for 2023 with big jumps for the names Sophia, Amelia and Mila. Charlotte and Luna round out their top 10 for 2023. Below is last year's list.
