2 Best Places To Fly To From Tampa In Less Than 2 Hours
Flight about to touch down in the Bahamas.
Are you someone who loves to travel on an airplane, but you don’t want to be on an incredibly long flight. I’ve got 2 places I love to fly to from Tampa, and they are destinations that are less than 2 hours away.
My number one spot is the Bahamas. If you can get a direct flight out of Tampa, it’s only about an hour and forty minutes. Once you arrive in Nassau, you’ll have many options for beautiful accommodations. You could stay at one of the three Baha Mar hotels, or you could stay at Atlantis, to name a few. From water sports to delicious cuisine to gambling to beaches to boat rides to parasailing. You’ll find every fun-in-the-sun and nightlife activity you could dream of. The only bummer is you can only get a direct flight back to Tampa on certain days of the week. (The other option is to fly through Miami, which really tacks on travel time.)
But maybe you aren’t looking to spend your vacation by the beach. Another great option is just a plane ride away to Charlotte, North Carolina. Enjoy the downtown and then pack up for an hour or so drive to the mountains and explore creeks, see wildlife and enjoy the fresh air.
Two totally different types of vacations, but only a reasonable plane ride away from Tampa.
Wildly Cool Museum Is Only 2 Hours From Tampa (By Plane)
You can take a flight from Tampa to Charlotte, which is less than a 2-hour flight, and visit a one-of-a-kind museum in downtown Charlotte.
It’s called the Museum of Illusions. And once we decided to go there, I made everyone in my family only refer to it as the Museum of Illllllluuuuuuusions. And every time we spoke the word “illusions,” we had to do a very dramatic magician gesture with our hands. Gotta build up the excitement. Make things fun for the kids!
My family and I traveled to North Carolina last month. We spent one night in downtown Charlotte. And then we drove up to the mountains the next day. When we arrived in Charlotte, I wanted to find an activity to do that would entertain my children, and it needed to be something we couldn’t do in Tampa. When the concierge told us about the Museum of Illusions, I said to myself, “This is it.” And it was perfect because we wanted to grab lunch in downtown and didn’t want an activity that would take the entire day. You can thoroughly enjoy the Museum of Illusions in 45 minutes to an hour and a half.
The Museum is exactly as it sounds. It’s filled with a variety of optical illusions. And it’s set up in a way where you can take pictures of yourself participating in the illusions. Check out all of the cool pictures below.
