You have until September 8 to shop for some essentials to get you through the storm. But you might not want to wait until September 8 with Tampa forecasters thinking we could get a tropical storm Tuesday or Wednesday.

Here are some of the items you can get sales-tax free through September 8, 2023:
$20 or less: reusable ice packs
$30 or less: laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, wipes

$50 or less: portable and two-way radios
$60 or less: coolers and power banks
$70 or less: smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers

There is NO limit on the number of qualifying items you can purchase. Rental or repair of any of the items above is NOT part of the sales tax holiday.
