A Local family feels lucky to be alive as they still live in fear of their neighbor. They busted the man who lives below them in their condo for allegedly injecting chemicals under their door. Umar Abdullah has been having problems with his neighbor since the birth of his daughter a year ago.
"He complained about footsteps. He complained about door closing sounds," Abdullah said to Fox13.
The complaints continue to the landlord, but things really escalated in May. That’s when Abdullah says he first smelled an odor in his house. It was a pungent chemical-like smell. The odor sickened him, his wife and his newborn daughter. They called out repairman to check all the major appliances. They found no issues, leaving them stumped as to where the order was coming from.
But then in June the chemical smell came back again. Mr. Abdullah said to Fox13"This chemical odor came back," Abdullah said. "I installed a hidden camera outside, because we were suspecting someone is basically tampering with our place from outside. And then we got our neighbor injecting something through our door."
Shortly after the camera was installed, they got footage of their neighbor allegedly tampering with the outside of their door. The neighbor, Xuming Li, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of battery and possession of a controlled substance.

"If we could not have found that incident on the camera, probably after a few days, we might have been dead," Abdullah
According to court documents identified Xuming Li as a University of South Florida student. A spokesperson from USF says he is no longer enrolled as of Summer 2023. He was a PhD student in the Chemistry department. Abdullah says a few labs are testing samples taken at the apartment to figure out exactly what substances were used.
This guy clearly is the worst neighbor in Tampa Bay!!
