Bruce Bennett/Getty ImagesIt's been a long time since we've enjoyed a performance by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, otherwise known as the "Greatest Show on Earth." Soon you'll be able to see the circus as it makes it's Tampa stop on the tour.
I remember, as a kid, going to St. Petersburg to watch the circus when it came to town. If I'm not mistaken, it rolled into town every January. It was a family tradition for my sister and I to go with my Dad. Can you believe we've gone six years without the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus?
The Show is making a comeback. The North American tour kicks off this weekend. There will be a stop in Tampa at Amalie Arena.
This is a reimagining of the Circus circa 2017. Kenneth Feld is Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Feld Entertainment. Feld Entertainment owns and manages the Circus, along with other entertainment juggernauts including Disney on Ice and Supercross.
So what can we expect from this 2023 version of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Feld explains, “As we began envisioning the reimagined Ringling, it was important to balance evolving the show for today’s consumers, while staying true to who we are as a brand. Over the past two years, we have innovated and reimagined what audiences can expect from live family entertainment. We are delivering powerful moments of connection between the performers and the audience.”

7 80s Acts Who Need To Do the Super Bowl Halftime Show Soon
For fans of 80s music, the clock is ticking. We've lost so many iconic 80s favorites like Michael, Whitney and Prince. Fortunately all had their unforgettable Super Bowl moments before they died. But there are a handful of acts that have never had the chance to perform on the big stage and it'd be nice to see it happen while they've still got it!
I'd always hoped Jimmy Buffett would have a chance to do the show. And I'd love to see Aerosmith have the stage to themselves. The mashup with Britney Spears and NSync back in the day was fun. But Steven Tyler should get to own the stage one more time before the band calls it quits.
Usher will undoubtedly bring it at the Super Bowl next year. But here are 7 80s acts I'd love to see get a chance to perform.
Bon Jovi
This one's the biggest no brainer of all. Bon Jovi DID perform at the Super Bowl but it wasn't the halftime show. I also have to insist that it's the REAL Bon Jovi. That means Richie Sambora needs to be a part of it too.
AC/DC
They're back together for a performance in California next month. Las Vegas is the home of the Super Bowl this year and it's right next door. How cool would an Usher & AC/DC mashup be?
Guns N Roses
Listen. Axl doesn't sound like he did in the 80s. I get it. But go back and watch GnR concerts back in the 80s. He didn't always sound so great back then either. But this needs to happen. Imagine if it started raining during November Rain like it did when Prince performed Purple Rain?
New Edition with Bobby Brown
The Super Bowl Halftime Show should rock. Thus my first few picks. But a New Edition/Bell Biv Devoe/Bobby Brown set would be pretty epic too.
U2
This one happened already, but I'd be down to see Bono and the boys do it again. The performance after 9/11 was iconic.
Bruce Springsteen
The Boss has done the Halftime show already too. But who would say no to rockin' out to "Born To Run" again?
Duran Duran
Probably not one you would've thought of right? Gotta tell you they were INCREDIBLE in Tampa at Amalie Arena this year. They sounded fantastic, brought big energy and had the place going nuts.
