This was upsetting news for anyone looking for a good brunch spot this past weekend. Turns out ANOTHER Tampa Bay brunch staple Bacon Bitch unexpectedly closed its doors over the weekend with no notice or explanation to fans.
In an Exploring Tampa Bay Facebook group, someone posted "What's going on with Bacon Bitch" with photos of a completely dark and empty restaurant. Very strange things to see on a Sunday afternoon. The writers of the post said the lights were off, the doors were locked, and there wasn't even a sign on the door.
When googling the restaurant, it still shows operating hours but the St. Pete location has been removed from the company's website. If you head to their social media page, their latest post is even from today (May 20) and it has no explanation of this weekend's closure, just videos of how crazy brunch can get.

Bacon Bitch opened in Downtown St. Pete around Fall of 2020. It was known for its unconventional service (like being greeted at the door with "Hey Bitch") and meals like croissant sandwiches.
Bacon Bitch joins a handful of other Tampa staples that have closed in 2024. Spots like Crisp & Green, The Stone Soup Company, select Tijuana Flatts locations have all announced their closures this year. Another unexpected closure was the popular speakeasy Ciro's located in Bayshore/Downtown Tampa.
For those die hard Bacon Bitch fans, it looks like the Miami location is still going strong. So if you're ever on vacation in south beach, then you can get your bacon fix. Even though the environment might not be for everybody, the food at Bacon Bitch was pretty good, so we're sad to see them go. But don't worry, there are plenty of brunch spots in Tampa Bay worth trying.
