The world's largest Buc-ees is getting ready to open soon in Florida. But it's not in Tampa. You'll have to drive all the way to Ocala. The Ocala Buc-ees will have 120 gas pumps and 28 EV spots. It’ll be the largest convenience store in the world when it does open. But wait until you hear which TINY puny little town is getting their Buc-ees before Tampa!
A 4th Florida Buc-ees is being built in North St. Lucie County. It’ll be off I-95 on Indrio Road near Fort Pierce. That’s not much good to us. Just like the Daytona location, that’s still about a 2-1/2 hour drive away for most of us in the Tampa area. But that's not the Buc-ees location that has me IRATE!
Now here comes the ultimate slap in the face if you're one of the many fans of Buc-ees in Tampa. The mega gas station and purveyor of Beaver Nuggets is opening a store in a small town with 800 RESIDENTS! Channel 10 reports this location in Smiths Grove, Kentucky will have 120 fuel pumps. That's one gas pump for every 7 residents! And Tampa can't get a Buc-ees? WTH?

There's no Buc-ees in Tampa but a tiny town of 800 is getting one! I want my Beaver Nuggets!
The Smiths Grove Buc-ees will be the smallest city in America to have its own Buc-ees. It's located between Nashville and Louisville, so I guess that kind of makes sense. But we Tampa Beaver Nuggets cravers want our Buc-ees! There are about 50 now around the United States.
Will we ever get a Buc-ees in Tampa? Where would you put one? It's been the topic of debate on our Facebook page. The no-brainer to me seems like a Buc-ees near all those RV dealerships in the Dover area, Plant City or I guess even Lakeland seem to make the most sense. I don't know where there would be room for one in the immediate Tampa area.
I don't get over to Daytona often, but when I was there for a concert, I had to check out the famous Buc-ee's Beaver Nuggets. I'd heard all about the Beaver Nuggets, beef jerky, fudge and other Buc-ee's goodies everyone raves about.
Buc-ee's is like an enormous Walmart. To call it just a gas station is really wrong. It's more like a Walmart with a lot of gas pumps... over 100! And Buc-ee's has lots of stuff to ruin what's left of your New Year's resolution. Here were the things that caught my attention during my first visit at their Daytona location.
Beaver Nuggets

OK I get the Beaver Nuggets thing now. I have a sweet tooth so I get the hype.
Jackpot!

This was my favorite purchase. I like the regular Beaver Nuggets that are sweet. But these were phenomenal.
FRIED Apple Pies

I'm always down for fried apple pie. It's the biggest menu item I miss at McDonald's. Whenever I get to visit a country where they still serve them like England, it's a must.
Not just sweets...

The brisket was decent but honestly not outstanding. I don't think I'd order it a second time.
Fresh chips?

These were OK but not really memorable. I'd pass on these too.
Didnt try the fudge but it looked good.

Well as long as Im already here.

Aw man I cant pass up anything with MnMs.

OK maybe this one too.

OK maybe this as well.

OK or this too.

This would be the one Ill try next time.

Gas gas gas as far as the eye can see.

You're not going to have to wait long in line for gas at Buc-ee's. They have EV charging spots now too.
