We are right in the heart of the summer concert season. The list of Tampa concerts in July is packed with 70s disco favorites, 80s pop and rock legends, and one of my favorite bands from the 90s. Let's dive in.
The same complaint every summer...
First off, many Floridians have this same complaint every year. Why have concerts in the middle of Florida's ridiculously hot season? We have those thundershowers pretty much every afternoon. The humidity is at its worst. So why do they always schedule so many outdoor shows in Tampa?
It's really pretty obvious. Concert tours aren't planned around one stop. Tours generally last for about 3 months. In that time they have to route artists in a direct line to squeeze in 20 or 30 performances from Boston to Dallas to Los Angeles. And cities like Boston can't do outdoor shows in January. You'd freeze. So that's why you have to sweat a little to see your favorite bands this time of year. Tampa is just 1 of a couple dozen stops they have to work into a short few months.
Tampa Concerts in July: Who's Coming To Town
July starts with a Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party favorite. KC & The Sunshine Band play the Event Center at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa July 7. Go do a little dance, make a little love and get down tonight if that's the way, uh huh, you like it.
Up next July 14, if you missed his show at The Sound, you have another chance to see Sammy Hagar. This time he's with Joe Satriani and Jason Bonham at the Amp in Tampa.
Two 80s pop icons are up next. Janet Jackson's Tampa concert a few years ago was unfortunately scrapped during the COVID mess when shows were put on hold. See her July 16 at the Amp. Then just a few nights later, catch New Kids On The Block with Paula Abdul on July 19. DJ Jazzy Jeff opens the show. The youngest "Kid" is now in his 50s, but the New Kids are still going strong. With lots of 80s hits like (You Got It) The Right Stuff, Hangin' Tough and Please Don't Go Girl, and Paula's hits like Opposites Attract, Forever Your Girl and Straight Up, this will be a trip back to 1989.
The hot list of Tampa concerts in July ends with the show I'm the most pumped for. I've seen Third Eye Blind probably a dozen times over the years. While you may know them for "Semi Charmed Life," they're hardly a one hit wonder. Their music takes me right back to the 90s. I love "Graduate," "How's It Gonna Be" and "God Of Wine." Yellowcard (the ones who do "Ocean Avenue") are on this tour too.
Some great shows coming up in the Tampa area and a few worth a road trip!
October 3: Boyz II Men

The trio holds the distinction of being the best-selling R&B group of all time, with an astounding 64 million albums sold. Boys II Men had so many huge 90s hits like Motownphilly, I'll Make Love To You and End of the Road. See the group at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Event Center.
October 4: The Marley Brothers

Ziggy, Damian, Stephan, Ky-Mani and Julian play the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.
November 6: Cyndi Lauper

One last chance to see one of the most iconic Q105 favorites from the 80s. Cyndi Lauper has announced this is her farewell tour. See her at Amalie Arena. Tampa is one of only 23 cities getting a tour stop. The only other show in Florida will be in Hollywood, Florida. No Orlando or Jacksonville stops.
November 14: The Pointer Sisters and The Commodores

Lots of great Q105 hits like "I'm So Excited" and "Neutron Dance" from the Pointer Sisters and "Brickhouse" ia one of our most requested songs on Q105. See them both at "An Evening of Icons - An Unforgettable Evening of Classic Hits" at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.
December 14: Bret Michaels

Catch the Poison lead singer for a performance at The Sound at Coachman Park. It's Bret's Parti-Gras 2.0 Tour with Night Ranger and Dee Snider from Twisted Sister.
December 15: Trans Siberian Orchestra

It's a Q105 holiday tradition! It'll be one of the most amazing live performances you'll ever see. The Lost Christmas Eve Tour will stop at Amalie Arena in Tampa.
