I’m so bummed to hear that Luv Child is closing. I’ve been there a handful of times, and I’ve always had a phenomenal experience. In a Luv Child, social media post, a representative, put the news out: “We have cherished every moment spent in serving, you and incredibly grateful for your unwavering love and support.”
I live in Westchase, and Luv Child is in South Tampa so it’s not exactly close enough to me or in the neighborhood where I can pop in on a regular basis but it’s a cool enough place that I would drive out of my way to go.
Not only did I go with my girlfriends, but I would also go with my kiddos. It has the cutest vibe with flowers, cute decor, and comfortable, modern booths. It’s fun for IG photos if you’re into that. Even though it’s not at all a “kids restaurant,” my girls loved it because it is so pretty inside.
I’m going to have to get out there before it closes. The last time you’ll have a chance to go there and enjoy their food and ambience will be on Sunday, July 28th.
Speaking of enjoying their food, oh my goodness do I love their marinated pork appetizer. They also always serve that dish at the taste of South Tampa. Their pork appetizer just scored high marks with the judges. It’s a shame that a restaurant with great food, vibe, and people behind it is going away.
I even remember when Luv Child used to be The Lodge. That bar was fun for food during the day and partying at night. You really think of that real estate as the perfect place for any sort of South Tampa food and entertainment business.
Though Luv Child is closing, a new restaurant will open in its place. It’s called Jay Luigi. Have you heard of it? It’s an Italian eatery. We don’t have any any idea when it will open.
It’s a bummer to hear that child is closing, but I hope Jay Luigi will find success and this location.
