Want to see Bend It Like Beckham, a soccer-themed film, at Armature Works?

You can check out this film that originally came out in 2002 and stars Keira Knightly. Keira plays Jess Bhamra. She has big dreams and hopes to someday become a professional football player. I’m referring to European football, i.e. what we call soccer. However, Jess’ parents have already planned out her future. They want her to become an attorney and get married. Jess’ has the opportunity to join the local women’s team after she has a chance meeting with Jules, another football player. This film has a little bit of everything in it. It’s a drama, a bit of a love story, and it’s even heralded as a fantastic British-humor comedy comparable to Bridgette Jones’ Diary.

If you love films and/or soccer, this is an event you don’t want to miss. The Tampa Bay area seems to be booming with a love of soccer. Last night the Tampa Bay Rowdies beat Miami FC 2 nothing in front of a rowdy crowd at Al Lang Stadium. Don’t forget we now have the Tampa Bay Sun to cheer on, as well. So plenty of fans will be excited to enjoy the movie, Bend it Like Beckham, at Armature Works.

The screening will take place on August 28, at Armature Works on the South Lawn at 1910 N Ola Avenue. What a gorgeous place to relax at, enjoy great food and drinks from local food trucks and inside, and watch the movies under a beautiful night sky.
