Best Outdoor Dining In Dunedin

If you want to enjoy a beautiful sunset and enjoy outdoor dining in Dunedin at it's finest, head to Bon Appétit.

And you might have an extra special reason to because one of those semi-silly "national holidays" is coming up tomorrow. On August 31, it's National Eat Outside Day. What does this mean for you? A picnic at the beach or an after-dark dining experience under the stars. For me, the best outdoor dining experience would have to include a beautiful sunset.

That's why I suggest heading to Bon Appétit in Dunedin. I've written a story previously about how nice it is to enjoy a night inside their beautiful dining room and watching as the sun dips down into the water. But it's equally enjoyable to sit out on their covered patio and take in the splendor of a gulf coast sunset. You can hear the seagulls chirp and watch them dip into the water to snag an evening snack. And they often have great live music, mellow songs from the 70's and 80's. You can enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine and enjoy what I believe to be the best in outdoor dining. You can't eat at Bon Appétit without trying their escargot. I highly recommend it. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is impeccable, as well.

Speaking of outdoor dining, in Dunedin there is a movement to extend outdoor dining hours. After your outdoor dining experience at Bon Appétit, you can stroll up the street and check out a nearby ice cream shop.

Celebrate National Eat Outside Day wherever you'd like. So many great spots to choose from around the Tampa Bay area, but we wanted to mention this very special place in downtown Dunedin right on the water.
