If you like to frequent bars, maybe you’ve noticed this interesting pattern where Sundays seem to bring out the rowdiest bar customers in Tampa Bay. Or should we say, “Customers act their rowdiest and wildest on Sunday”?

A bartender who works in a bar near St. Petersburg started a conversation on Redditt. The Redditt user posed a theory. "No matter where (NYC, LA, Key West, Connecticut, currently outside St. Pete, FL), no matter what type of establishment (Fine dining, casual, mom and pop), the people who come out on Sunday night are just unlike the rest of the week. Just me?" the bartender of 29 years asked. Plenty of hospitality workers and bartenders shared their own commentary and many were in agreement with the original poster.

Oner person commented, "Similar work experience, and yes, Sunday people cut from a different cloth. I used to call it the experimental dining day.”

Why Do Bar Customers In Tampa Bay Act Crazier On Sundays?

You have to wonder what turns Sunday into such a wild afternoon/evening/night out. We threw out a couple of our own theories on the MJ Morning Show. One idea is that people are experiencing the Sunday Scaries. People are dreading going back to work and so they just want to let loose as the time ticks down. I have another idea that maybe things get so crazy on Sunday because some people are Weekend Warriors. Maybe you’ve got some Sunday customers who started partying on Friday, and they’re still going strong.

Another Redditt user described Sundays as follows. "I, unfortunately, see the worst of people on Sundays where I live, it’s like that’s when all the assholes come out. Last Sunday I was yelled at twice in 20 minutes over asinine things. Today was my first Sunday off in over two months and it’s been the best mental health day ever knowing I’m not there."

It’s definitely a thing. It’s a pattern. And in the Tampa Bay area with all of our beach bars and really nice weather at night, you can imagine how partyers would keep the fun going into Sunday.
