It's celebration time! It’s the one day of the year when we collectively ignore our diets, throw caution to the wind, and embrace the glorious union of meat, cheese, and buns! I bet most of you didn't know that today (September 18) was National Cheeseburger Day! Many claim to be the originators of America's Favorite sandwich, but according to multiple news outlets the cheeseburger was first cooked up nearly a century ago in Pasadena, California by a 16-year-old short-order cook in a roadside hamburger stand. There is still some debate on whether the cheeseburger was created on September 18th, but whether it was or wasn't, we celebrate this day every year either way. So I did all my foodies a favor and made a list of my favorite spots in Tampa to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day.

TNT Burger

Before we get into the deals, I have to tell you guys about my favorite burger joint that everyone needs to try. Voted Tampa's #1 Burger by Tampa Magazine back in 2022, TNT Burger has all the ingredients to satisfy your cheeseburger cravings. My favorite thing to order is The COVID-19 Vaccine Burger. This slice of heaven includes an Angus beef patty, caramelized bacon, crispy onion rings, fresh cheddar, lettuce and tomato inside a brioche bun. Add in the syringe with TNT Burger’s homemade smoked sauce, and you have one of the tastiest burgers I ever had in my life.

McDonald's

I know what you're thinking already. "McDonald's, REALLY", but hear me out. Since it is National Cheeseburger Day, there are many places putting discounts on their burgers, and McDonald's has one of the best deals. You do have to download their app though. If you do, you can enjoy a double cheeseburger today for just 50 cents! Now that's a price that looks and tastes delicious.

Wendy's

What's better than a burger that costs just 50 cents? A cheeseburger that costs just 1 cent! The best part about Wendys' deal, is that it isn't just for today either. Wendy's is offering 1-cent junior bacon cheeseburgers till Sunday, September 22. Call me a cheap date all you want, you can find me at Wendy's every day for the rest of this week.

Burger King

I know it's hard to beat a 1-cent burger deal, but there are businesses out there that have the courage to do so. One of them is Burger King. If you sign up for their Royal Perks loyalty program, you can get a FREE cheeseburger with any purchase of $1 or more. The deals don't stop there though. The King is also offering a FREE whopper jr. on Monday and FREE chicken fries later on in the week for anyone that orders through there app.

Boulevard Burgers & Tap House

Another business offering free cheeseburgers is Boulevard Burgers & Tap House in St. Petersburg. For this deal however, you don't have to buy anything. Instead, you just have to give some blood. Boulevard Burgers is teaming up with OneBlood to host a blood drive to encourage community members to donate blood. Just make sure you go between 1 pm and 630 pm to give blood to receive a complimentary cheeseburger, a $20 eGift card from OneBlood, and Cancer Awareness socks.

What other cheeseburger deals are there that we did not mention?
