Is the Tampa Bay Lightning Free Chick-fil-A Offer Gone?

Chick-fil-A

Lightning fans have enjoyed free chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-A after home game wins for years.

For years, Tampa Bay Lightning fans have had that extra reason to cheer on the Bolts to get those home game wins at Amalie Arena. A home game win meant you got some free Chick-fil-A. But is the Chick-fil-A offer still good for the 2024-2025 season?

The Tampa Bay Lightning's home opener 4-1 win at Amalie Arena meant fans got a free double cheeseburger, half off a pizza, some wings, and cheese curds. But the freebie they were looking for never appeared in their Chick-fil-A app.

No more free Chick-fil-A?

I hate to say it, but it looks like the offer is gone. During the Lightning's first home game, there was no mention of the free Chick-fil-A offer on the promotions page where you usually found it. I thought maybe whoever runs the Tampa Bay Lightning website was just asleep at the Zamboni wheel. But the offer never showed up after the game.

The way the deal usually worked went like this. If the Bolts won at home, you'd get a freebie at Chick-fil-A. It was never a full meal, but it was usually something tasty like a chicken sandwich or nuggets. I think I remember them getting a little stingy and offering only free waffle fries at one point.

The offer would pop up in your Chick-fil-A app usually around an hour after the home game ended. The catch was you had to claim the offer by midnight. If you forgot, you lost it. That meant you had to close and reopen your Chick-fil-A app a dozen times sometimes until they finally loaded the freebie into your account. You also had to make sure you gave the Chick-fil-A app the ability to see your location. It was only open to Tampa area fans.

The other free food deals are back for 2024

Even if the free Chick-fil-A offer is gone for good, there are some of the other regular freebies and discounts this season.

For Wendy's lovers, you can grab a free Double Stack with any purchase if the Tampa Bay Lightning score 4 goals or get a shutout win. Papa Johns fans get half off their pizza with the code "BOLTSW" after a Lightning win. If the Bolts score in the 3rd period, that means free cheese curds from Culvers. For that one, redeem online with the code "CURDS4BOLTS." Just like the Wendy's offer, a purchase is required. Wings fan? If the Bolts score 3 or more goals, go to Kanes3Goals.com to claim 3 free wings from Beef O'Bradys.

Some Lightning fans did get a Chick-fil-A Freebie

A friend who's at the game tonight says fans DID get a free chicken sandwich at the arena tonight. But it's one of those "ya had to be there" things. During the "Spot the Cow" segment they do where a fan has to locate the Chick-fil-A cow with a camera, fans were given the freebie if the contestant found the cow.

Even back then there were those "Stanley Needs a Tan" signs and t-shirts. It was 20 years ago today the headlines read that your Tampa Bay Lightning win their first Stanley Cup. It wouldn't be their last. Where were you that day?

In 2004, some guy at Harvard created a new website called Facebook in his dorm. President George Bush was reelected. Martha Stewart went to prison. Janet Jackson had the infamous "wardrobe malfunction." The Boston Red Sox won their first World Series since 1918. But the thing we'll always remember about 2004: the Tampa Bay Lightning win their first Stanley Cup.

The Tampa Bay Lightning Win Their First Stanley Cup: Doubt

The Tampa Bay Lightning poured champagne in the locker room after defeating the Calgary Flames in game seven of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. Back on June 7, 2004, it wasn't Amalie Arena yet. It was the St. Pete Times Forum where the Lightning won the Stanley cup by defeating the Flames 2-1.

2004 was the first year the Bolts would even play in the playoffs. Dave Andreychuk told The Hockey News that he didn't think his team was good enough to pull this off. But as the playoff wins started to pile up, he said the formula was simple: "We stick to the system and we can beat anybody." They did.

We did some digging and found some great photos of even the Stanley Cup winning team. There were appearances by Elvis impersonators, Alexander Ovechkin and Hulk Hogan.
