In her new memoir, Cher shares some details about her life and memorable things that have occurred throughout her career. In one specific incident, Cher shares details about an interaction she had with Tina Turner regarding the abuse she endured from then husband, Ike Turner.

Cher's latest memoir, Cher: The Memoir, Part One, was released on November 19 and unlocked a few hidden memories.

Cher Opens Up About Ike & Tina Turner in Memoir

In the book, Cher references Tina coming on The Sonny & Cher Show twice with Ike Turner and they eventually became good friends. She further explains that one day during filming, Tina asked for makeup to cover a bruise on her arm.

She further explains that Tina asked the singer about when she left her ex, Sonny Bono, who she also references as "mishandling" her at a point in their relationship - "I looked at her and told her, I just walked out and kept going," writes Cher in her memoir.

Ike and Tina Turner married in 1962 and later divorced in 1976. The couple performed as the Ike and Tina Turner Revue through most of the '60s and '70s. The couple released major hits, including "Proud Mary."

Later after divorcing, Tina further opened up about the abusive marriage she endured with Ike. In an interview with PEOPLE from 1981, Tina shares, "I was living a life of death," when referencing their marriage. "I didn't exist. I didn't fear him killing me when I left, because I was already dead. When I walked out, I didn't look back."
