A fresh WalletHub study puts Tampa at number seven on their list of top food spots in America. The research weighed 28 factors across 182 cities, checking food standards, prices, and how easy it is to find good eats.

With a score of 68.62 out of 100, Tampa showed mixed results. While food costs ranked a modest 114th, the city shined in food choices and quality, landing an impressive sixth place nationwide.

Miami claimed the crown, with Portland and San Francisco right behind. Orlando snagged fifth place, making Florida stand out as the sole state boasting three cities in the elite top ten.

Analysts dug into many aspects: from what people pay at stores to food taxes and restaurant counts. The study aimed to find places where good food meets smart spending.

Fine dining has transformed Tampa's food scene. Three spots now sparkle with MICHELIN stars: Lilac at the Tampa EDITION, EBBE, and Rocca. Each brings its own special touch to the table.

The rating system balanced costs with excellence. Cities earned extra points for having well-rated yet affordable spots to eat, plus they checked how many restaurants serve each neighborhood.

Local food markets, grocery options, and easy-to-reach shops boosted Tampa's standing. Coffee spots and specialty food stores also added to the city's strong showing in the rankings.

Las Vegas, Sacramento, and San Diego rounded out the top spots. Data came from trusted sources like the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and leading food review sites.
