Homesick Bagels has opened at 1528 W North B St. in North Hyde Park. This marks the third food concept from the team behind Santoro's Pizza and Giancarlo's Cafe & Spirits. The shop serves New Jersey-style bagels from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The menu shows almost a dozen cream cheese and butter spreads with more than half a dozen types of bagels to pick from. Breakfast sandwiches? Check. Lunch sandwiches? They've got those too, all served on house-made bagels that come fresh each morning. Coffee, juices, and sodas round out what you can drink.
Pork roll shows up on the menu here, according to That's So Tampa. The 3 Lil Pigs breakfast sandwich packs lettuce, tomato, ham, bacon, pork roll, a hashbrown, and cheese between two halves of a bagel — it's not for the faint of heart. Hash browns and Joe Chips are available as sides if you want something extra.
Owner Travis Kaiser launched Santoro's Pizza in the area first, then brought Giancarlo's to life before creating this bagel shop.
Tampa keeps getting more bagel shops, and this opening adds another local, independent option for residents who want a good breakfast or lunch.
