Tampa Bay's weekend brings together Brazilian culture, absurdist comedy, and a neo-soul concert by candlelight. The Brazilian Festival kicks off Saturday afternoon with samba, live music, and authentic cuisine, while Mandy Keen takes the stage that evening with her one-woman show. Round out the weekend on Sunday evening with the Listeso String Quartet performing neo-soul favorites at Hotel Haya. This weekend has something worth getting out for.

The Annual Brazilian Festival returns to Tampa for its 16th edition, celebrating the culture, music, and flavors of Brazil. The festival features live performances from Negritude Jr., Big Mountain, and Vitin, a former member of Onze:20. You'll be able to enjoy samba and bossa nova, traditional Brazilian cuisine, artisan vendors, interactive workshops, and a dedicated children's area.

Mandy Keen: Maggie

Mandy Keen: Maggie is an absurd, physical, and surprisingly heartfelt solo comedy show written and performed by Mandy Keen. Set in a landfill, the show follows one woman clawing her way toward freedom in a chaotic, surreal journey through the refuse of life. Packed with physical comedy and audience interaction, Maggie is a love letter to anyone who has ever been underestimated or thrown away, with the message that there's beauty among the trash if you're willing to dig.

Candlelight: Neo-Soul Favorites Featuring Songs by Prince, Childish Gambino, and More

  • Where: Hotel Haya, 1412 E. Seventh Ave., Tampa

The Candlelight concert series brings its signature glow to Hotel Haya for Candlelight: Neo-Soul Favorites, performed by the Listeso String Quartet. The 60-minute show moves through a rich setlist of neo-soul classics and contemporary hits, including Prince's "Purple Rain," Sade's "Smooth Operator," Frank Ocean's "Thinkin Bout You," and Childish Gambino's "Redbone." Doors open 60 minutes before showtime, and late entry is not permitted. Attendees must be at least 8 years old, and those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
