Alessi Bakery shifted operations to a new space at 3003 W Cypress St in Tampa. The new building is four times bigger than before. The family ran their business from the old spot for over 50 years, but roots stretch back to 1912.

Walk inside and you'll find a liquor bar, pizza stand, coffee cafe, bakery observation window, plus deli and dessert counters. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner get served seven days a week. Want pizza late at night? They've got you covered.

"Honestly, I keep saying this is a dream come true," Phil Alessi Jr. sai, according to Tampa Bay 28. "This is long overdue."

Phil Alessi Jr. runs the show as fourth-generation owner. His father's portrait hangs inside, welcoming customers who step through the doors.

"I like the heritage, my family on the walls," Phil Alessi Jr. said.

The shop moved just a few doors down from its old home. But comparing the two? Night and day. The service area sprawls where cramped quarters once stood.

Tampa knows this bakery for scachatta and tres leches cakes. People have bought these same items for over a century.

Moving doesn't happen often for this business. Consistency defined their approach throughout the years. Fans were surprised at first, then excitement took over as word spread about the expansion.
