When I first moved from Hillsborough to the Pinellas side of Tampa Bay, I complained that Tampa had all the good pizza and St. Pete and Clearwater need to step up.  I had a hidden agenda.  I knew there were probably spots I hadn’t found yet.  But when you talk pizza, people get passionate.  I knew making a bold, and probably false, statement like that would rile some people up and I’d have some good places to try.  You didn’t let me down.  And I ended up finding what might be my favorite pizza anywhere.  It’s a spot in Clearwater that’s so good, the week after I had it when I went to New York City, I didn’t even bother having pizza.

I loaded up my favorite review app, Yelp, and compared my favorite spots with the ones reviewers have picked as the best in Tampa Bay.  Half of them I’d never even heard of.  But I’m glad to see the #1 pick among reviewers is my pick too. Because it is that good.
