My grandmother is 92 years old. The cable company up in Maine LOVED her because she didn’t know how to comparison shop. But then her tech nerd grandson saw her bill and took action.
I convinced her to cut the cord and go with an internet cable TV service. She still needed to pay the crazy rates for internet the cable company charges because the have a monopoly on internet access. But I at least felt good that I could save her 30 or 40 bucks a month on her cable TV service. I signed her up for YouTube TV. It had the channels she liked – she could watch the news, sports and Jeopardy. That’s pretty much 99% of her TV viewing.
Well now YouTube TV has been jacking up their rates. First $10. And now $15. And this is within 3 years. So I got really annoyed because I’m 1,000 miles away and I’m sure she wouldn’t want any changes at her age.
But then I did some reading. And I discovered something that might save YOU some money. If you’re paying more than $25 a month for cable, check this out.
