Long before Rich Fields yelled “Come on down!” on CBS, he was a fan of Bob Barker. How did he get that spot behind the podium? It started here in Tampa Bay as Rich grew up listening to Scott Shannon on Q105. Geno asks Rich about his various jobs before landing a spot on America’s biggest game show. What sparked his interest in game shows? How did he break into entertainment? Was TV always his gameplan? How did getting on the radio happen? How did Rich get fired from his first radio job? And when Rich tried to make the pivot from radio to TV, one of his first big auditions seemed promising but it was a big flop. Who was the huge 80s iconic actor he almost got to work with? We’ll get into that and more. Hope you enjoy the first episode of “Come On Down!”
